Calder Race Course near Miami, Fla., announced a purse increase that took effect with the Friday, June 14 race card. The increase affects all overnight purses.

Beginning with Friday's card, all overnight purses were increased by approximately 10 percent from a daily average of $165,000 to $182,000. When combined with stakes purses and breeders' enhancement funds, the new total average daily purse distribution will be approximately $226,000.

"We are pleased to be able to increase purses to this level so early into our meet," said Calder President Ken Dunn. "Through this past Monday, on-track business and in-state business are up 5 percent and 15 percent, respectively, over projected levels. Our meet has started strong and we believe that schedule changes for this year's meet should maximize our purse structure."
