Equine Spectrum and bloodstock agent Margaret C. "Sissy" Woolums have reached an exclusive agreement to hold an online auction of select South American bloodstock. The date of the sale has been tentatively scheduled forTuesday, July 30.
All entries will be of South American origin, be presently located in South America, or will have connections to South American bloodlines, sires, etc. The catalogue will be limited to 10-15 entries.
During its April online auction this year, Equine Spectrum (www.equinespectrum.com) successfully facilitated the sale of the filly Che Negrita, in training at the time in Peru, to a purchaser in Belgium.
"As demonstrated by the sale of Che Negrita, Equine Spectrum allows buyers and sellers around the world to come together cheaply and easily," said Executive Director Dan Kelliher. "We are pleased to have this opportunity to bring some of South Americaís best to prospective buyers world-wide."
Woolums will have the exclusive right to consign entries to the sale and to act as agent for sellers.
ìSouth American breeders have a wealth of talented horses to offer, but it
is difficult to bring them to sale due to the expense involved,ì said Ms.
Woolums. ìEquine Spectrum does away with that expense and I am excited to
be working with them on this venture.î
