Groundbreaking ceremonies for Saddle Brook Park, a proposed racetrack and entertainment center in Amarillo, Texas, are set for June 19. Plans call for Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing.

The ceremonies will be attended by Saddle Brook Park officials, Texas Racing Commission officials, city of Amarillo officials, and designers and builders. The racetrack will have a one-mile racing surface with a 550-yard chute, 550 stalls, and seating capacity for more than 30,000 patrons.

The facility will have more than 300 television screens, an infield amphitheater, and at full capacity will employ 350 people.
