Eighteen-year-old Shahrastani, who defeated Dancing Brave in the 1986 Epsom Derby (Eng-I) and followed up with a triumph in the Irish Derby (Ire-I), is scheduled to arrive for stallion duty next week at Wayne Hutchinson's Walton Fields Stud near Leicestershire, England. He has sired 16 stakes winners.
A Kentucky-bred, Shahrastani (Nijinsky II--Shademah, by Thatch) began his stud career at Three Chimneys Farm near Lexington in 1987, then was moved to Japan. He stood the last several seasons in Ireland. Shahrastani will stand for a syndicate for £1,250.
