The Southern Racing Cooperative has a new multi-year deal with the New York Racing Association on signal rates, a cooperative official said.

The cooperative, which represents 20 racetracks and their off-track betting outlets, signed a deal with NYRA May 13, said Mike Weiss, general manager at Beulah Park and president of the cooperative. Member tracks began importing the Belmont Park signal May 14.

The Mid-Atlantic Cooperative struck a new deal with NYRA the week of May 4. Officials have said NYRA had increased its host fees.

“Of course, the tracks are happy to have the signal back,” Weiss said May 16. “NYRA has a great signal.”

Weiss didn't discuss details of the agreement.

Members of the Southern Racing Cooperative include Beulah Park, Lebanon Raceway, Northfield Park, and River Downs in Ohio; Delta Downs Racetrack & Casino in Louisiana; the Downs at Albuquerque, Ruidoso Downs, Sunland Park, Sun Ray Park, and Zia Park in New Mexico; Fonner Park and Horsemen's Park in Nebraska; Hazel Park, Northville Downs, and Sports Creek Raceway in Michigan; Retama Park and Sam Houston Race Park in Texas; Tampa Bay Downs in Florida; Turf Paradise in Arizona; and The Woodlands in Kansas.
