A Repent colt was the fastest worker at an eighth of a mile May 15 during the second session of the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic preferred sale of 2-year-olds in training at Timonium in Maryland. Consigned by King’s Equine, agent, he turned in a sizzling time of :9 4/5.

The bay colt is out of the 10-year-old unraced Thunder Gulch mare Crowning Touch and is a full brother to grade II winner Crown of Thorns.

A Lion Heart colt set the pace at a quarter mile with his clocking of :21. Produced from the 24-year-old winning Balzac mare Bye the Bye, he is a half-brother to grade I winner Shossberg (by Broad Brush), added-money winner San Romano (by Cool Victor), and stakes-placed winner Wilusa (by Vigors), who also is a stakes producer. Crupi’s New Castle Farm, agent, is the dark bay or brown 2-year-old’s consignor.

A Yankee Gentleman filly was the quickest at three furlongs, covering the distance in :34 1/5. Her dam, the 13-year-old winning Cherokee Colony mare Cherokee Rain, also produced the stakes-placed winner Buenisima (by Storm Boot). The consignor of the bay juvenile is Mike Neatherlin, agent for Double Knuck Stables.

The Fasig-Tipton auction will be held May 19 and 20, with selling beginning each day at 10 a.m.
